First Meeting & Service Project

This month will be our first meeting of the new school year!  We are excited to meet together again and share God's Word as well as be a blessing to other.  Our first service project will be assembling craft kits for Caitlin's Smiles, which is a non-profit organization based in Harrisburg, PA that delivers arts and crafts kits to children facing chronic or life-threatening illnesses.  We have 4 different craft kits that we will be assembling to donate to this wonderful organization.  If you are interested in joining us, please send me an email ASAP at nikkidonahue@verizon.net!

Wrapping up our 2014-2015 year!

Tomorrow is our annual club picnic and awards ceremony!  We'll be celebrating another year of service, new skills, fellowship and fun.  This year our club had six families participating, including 7 boys, 6 girls and 4 younger siblings.  The children enjoyed weaving baskets with the "Basket Lady", creating albums to reflect their personalities, practicing sign language and doing a study of trees along with related Bible verses.

After a summer break, we will begin meeting again on Friday evenings in September.  We look forward to our current families returning and welcome anyone else interested in joining us!  For more information or to receive our schedule for 2015-2016, email me at nikkidonahue@verizon.net.

Service Project, October 2014 - part 2

During our second meeting of the month, we made the no-sew fleece scarves to bless the children at the family homeless shelter.

Service Project, October 2014

I have a heart for the local homeless family shelter, which just happens to be right around the corner from where we meet.  We decided to make simple no-sew fleece hats and scarves to bless the children staying at the shelter.

We used a very simple pattern we found online and all the children enjoyed making hats!

2014 Picnic and Awards

We had our end-of-year picnic a little late this year.  The children were excited to receive the badges they had earned!

Genealogy

Our main project this year has been working on our Genealogy badge.  The older children made a Genealogy notebook with pages for each family member.  Each family made a family tree also.  I believe this will be an ongoing project for some of us, as we learn more about our family histories!

Beautiful frame family tree project!
